John Sayles film “Honeydripper” Free Screening – Savannah, Georgia

John Sayles received the prestigous life-time achievement award for directing at Savannah Film Festival this fall. At this time the film was screened, but if you missed it, here’s your chance. There will be a special free screening of Honeydripper on Tuesday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. presented by the Lucas Theatre, Black Heritage Festival and the Savannah Film Society. This show is free and open to the public.
There will also be a special appearance by the film’s director (John Sayles) and producer (Maggie Renzi) immediately following the film.

Australia Day Challenge Game Day – Jacksonville, Florida

Leeds Rhinos, the Super League 2007 Champions meet South Sydney Rabbitohs from Australia at Hodges Stadium at the University of Florida. Gates open at 11 pm.

  • 12 noon Pre game entertainment starts
  • 12.45pm Pre game ceremony starts
  • 1pm     Kick Off
  • 3pm     Post Game Presentations
  • 4pm to 7pm VIP Post Game Party for Ticket Holders at Mavericks at the Jacksonville Landing

Australia Day Challenge Friday Fan Day – Jacksonville, Florida

Fan Tours and interactive games at the Jacksonville Jaguars Stadium.
Jacksonville Axemen, our local rugby team, and Jaguars Alumni will be on hand to explain the differences in each type of Football at the stadium. Entry at Gate 1 at the Downtown Stadium. A FREE Shuttle bus will run round trip from the Jacksonville Landing to Gate 1 and back. First departure from in front of the Jacksonville Landing at 10.30am. Last return from Gate 1 at the Stadium to the Landing at 2.45pm. Merchandise and Concession Sales.

Fan Tours at the Budweiser Brewery
25-Jan 10am to 3pm
Tours from 11am until 2.30pm. A FREE Shuttle bus will run from Gate 1 at the Jags Stadium to the brewery. First bus departs Gate 1 at 10.45am and last return leave the Brewery at 3.15pm.

Barons Brewing Australia Day Bash
25-Jan 7pm till late is when the Barons Brewing Australia Day Bash takes place at the Walkabout 2 Cafe, Located on Beach Blvd (crn of San Pablo Blvd) 14333 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Bch, FL 32250, (904) 992-2221

Gullah Gospel Extravaganza – Hilton Head, South Carolina

The award winning Mississippi Quartet has inspired audiences and celebrated the gospel through their powerful vocals for more than three decades. Their CD’s include “Jesus Is Alive and Well,” in 1996; “Love Will Go All the Way,” 1998, and “Good Time, in 2000” which landed into the Top Ten of Billboard’s gospel albums chart in November, in just its second week of release. Accolades poured in during the next year when he group won Traditional Quartet of the Year at the Gospel Music Excellence Awards, and were nominated for Best Gospel Album at the Soul Train Music Awards. In May 2003, Williams and the Spiritual QC’s released their fourth disc, “Right on Time.”
