An ancient holiday, Saturnalia was a Roman festival of immense size and popularity that celebrated the winter solstice. On a quiet December evening, we’ll have food, drink and entertainment fitting of the arrival of the winter solstice in classic fashion. It’s a toga party!

Echoes of Angels: Seasonal Music Through the Ages – Charleston, SC
The Charleston Renaissance Ensemble presents, “Echoes of Angels: Seasonal Music Through the Ages.†Charleston’s premier early music vocal group, the Renaissance Ensemble is comprised of 11 men and women, and specializes in sacred and secular music of the medieval and renaissance periods. The weekend-long event, which will be held February 15-17, 2008 in Jacksonville Beach, will include a health expo, community celebration event, VIP event, marathon, half marathon and fun-run. The event benefits the Mayo Clinic and women living with breast cancer.

Toddler Third Thursday Telfair’s Jepson Center for the Arts – Savannah, GA
This program is designed especially for preschoolers ages 3-5 and their adult companions. Your toddler will explore artwork from both our permanent and temporary exhibitions followed by a visit to the new Jepson Education Studios for a fun-filled art project relating to their tour. Colors, shapes, and material vocabulary will be encouraged. Each month will involve a different tour and project. Time to play in ArtZeum is included.
