Your ultimate guide to the coast

Valentine’s Day Savannah

One of the most romantic cities to spend Valentine’s Day on the Georgia coast is in the city of Savannah. The old city has lots of charm with its many beautiful squares, live oaks with hanging moss and a bustling river front . Savannah is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway weekend. Walking in Savannah is always a pleasure, you can walk on the riverfront at night, watching the moon reflections in the water, or enjoy one of the many bars or restaurants. There’s always a lot to do and see in Savannah.

Here are a few suggestions of what to do for Valentine’s Day Weekend in Savannah, Georgia.

I Love You, You’re Perfect – Now Change!

We didn’t come up with the title, actually it is a title to a performance by the Savannah Theatre, probably more suitable for couples who have been together for a while and who can still joke about it. “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is in Savannah for 7 performances on February 10-18, 2012, just in time for Valentine’s Day. This hilarious musical celebrates the modern-day suburban mating game.  The musical explores the joys of dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives, and in-laws. “I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE” has played more than 4,500 performances, surpassing the Broadway runs of such musicals as “My Fair Lady,” “Annie,” “Oklahoma!,” “Grease,” “Man of La Mancha,” “42nd Street,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “The Producers,” and “Hello, Dolly!”. A Southern Gothic Tale

Or Dinner and a Movie – with a Dark Twist!  At first, this idea sounds morbid – and in a way it is – but when you think about it, it’s really a unique way to experience Southern Gothic. This suggestion is perfect for the more adventurous couples. Instead of the everyday-version of “Dinner and a Movie” how about a visit to the cemetery before the meal? This is actually not a tour hosted by TV’s favorite murderer Dexter, it is a tour to the Bonaventure Cemetery after sunset, when the gatekeeper locks the gate AFTER us. Scary stuff indeed – and the basis of romance! There is no better way to get close to your woman. If you haven’t seen the cemetery at its golden hour, this is your chance.   Then after the cemetery tour, it’s time to eat, and you’re not getting your ordinary boring dinner either. This meal is served at the city’s premier soul food joint, Sister’s of The New South Kitchen. Your guide will presents antiques from his collection respective of cemeteries and secret societies connected to Savannah! More stories while you feast!

So bring a flashlight, bring a camera, bring your nerves & no worries, this tour will give you an appetite for food & more stories!
$20 Per Patron, 6 to 8 p.m.
$15 Dinner 8:15 p.m. – Until Dinner is optional but a great part of the fun of the evening. CALL 877.662.BONA or 912.816.4460 to get your tickets and make sure to let them know that CoastalCompanion.com sent you!
