The Amelia Island Songwriter Festival offers a venue for undiscovered and newly discovered songwriters to gain exposure, network with other songwriters, and meet industry professionals. On Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Native American village of Seloy (now the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park) will come alive with demonstrations of culture and lifestyles of the Timucua who had been living here for at least 500 years when the Spanish arrived in 1565. The Seminoles and other U.S. tribes that have been part of Florida’s history will also be represented. That evening, an Indian Pow Wow will honor the Native American traditions that are a part of the city’s history.
