Pops at the Beach; Mother’s Day Concert – Jacksonville Beach, Florida

Bring Mom and the whole gang to Jacksonville Beach for a free concert. There is no better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than attending this favorite annual event. Admission is free, so you can spend your money on a nice dinner for Mom instead. Entertainment begins at 6 PM with Sounds of Motown & More by the Jacksonville Mass Choir & Friends.May 11, 2008. The Beaches Fine Arts and the City of Jacksonville Beach present the 14th annual Mother’s Day Pops at the Beach Concert featuring the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra (JSO).

The concert takes place in Jacksonville Beach at Sea Walk Pavilion from 6-10 PM
The Jacksonville Symphony performs at 8 PM.

Spring into Bloom at the Zoo – Jacksonville, Florida

If you like plants and gardening, visit the new Great Lawn and the Gardens of Trout River Plaza for Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ second annual Spring Into Bloom event on April 26 – 27! Well-known local experts will be on hand to explain how to grow, decorate, and cook with botanical and other plants. Guests can learn from speakers who are well-known for their gardening expertise, visit horticulture stations, enjoy children’s activities, and listen to live entertainment!

The Players Downtown Experience – Jacksonville, Florida

Downtown Jacksonville will be alive with activity surrounding THE PLAYERS Championship, as the second annual THE PLAYERS Downtown Experience, May 7-10, takes over Downtown. The program kicks off during Art Walk on Wednesday, May 7 combining art with golf throughout participating Downtown businesses. There will be a celebration of local favorite, Mark McCumber and the 20th anniversary of his tournament win during Art Walk. Golf activities and entertainment, plus live coverage of the tournament on the Jumbotron will be available at Jacksonville Landing, the city’s official “19th hole” during the week, from May 7-9. On Saturday, May 10, experience the main program consisting of live event coverage on the Jumbotron and entertainment and golf memorabilia, interactive games and autographs from professional golfers in the courtyard beginning at 4 p.m. All events are free.
