Cracker Day – St. Augustine, Florida

Celebrate Florida’s Country Cracker Heritage on Saturday Oct 20, when bluegrass banjos and fiddles are combined with horsemanship demonstrations and mouth-watering barbecue. Enjoy a full day of horseback games, horseback racing, barrel racing, a livestock show, cracker whipping demonstrations and exhibits of Florida Cracker equipment.

Haunted Hayride – St. Augustine, Florida.

animated witchTake an old-fashioned hayride and discover the nighttime beauty of the maritime hammock while meeting haunting goblins of the forest, spooks from sandy graves and other denizens of the dark. The fun starts at Anastasia State Park (please enter the park at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre). The haunted hayride takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. and admission is $7 per person. Tickets will be sold from 7 to 9 p.m. For the faint of heart, we have the Enchanted Forest, a scare-free walking loop filled with magical fairytale scenes, music and sparkling lights, fun activities and programs.

Halloween Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treating, St. Augustine, Fla.

Bring the little ghosts, goblins and fairies for some Halloween to the Ancient City Tour’s Annual Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treating in historic St. Augustine. The fun begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, with the parade that departs form the clock tower at the St. Augustine Visitors Center and proceeds up St. George Street to the Plaza de la Constitucion, where costume judging will take place. Then from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., the Downtown shops, museums and attraction will offer treats for tricks. The St. Augustine Information Center is located at the corner of Castillo Drive and Avenida Menendez, across for the Fort. The Halloween Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treating are free.

West Farm Corn Maze – Charleston, S.C.

If you are looking for a good family outing, head to the West Family’s 6-acre corn maze for some good old-fashioned fun. The maze features over 3 miles of trails in the shape of the Palmetto state.
You can visit the West Farm Corn Maze until October 28th. When you arrive you will be given a map to help find your way, but will you will have to use your best map-reading skills to find all twelve checkpoints. 2nd Annual Greek Cultural Weekend – St. Augustine, Florida

Come celebrate the Othodoxy and Hellenism that is a big part of St. Augustine’s history at the St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine on Friday, Oct. 26 – Sunday, Oct. 28. On Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., there will be a reception and book signing by author of Demetrios is Now Jimmy, Larry Odzack. On Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon, enjoy a 4-track round of displays and demonstrations about Greek Orthodoxy, Greek Language, Greek Cooking, and Greek Folklore. Friday 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m. to noon
