Barbeque and Bluegrass at Boonehall – Charleston, South Carolina

July 9, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

If you love good food and enjoy live music, how about a festival with Barbecue and Bluegrass? Professional barbecue teams will travel to Boone Hall Plantation for the Southern National Barbeque Championship & Bluegrass Festival to compete in a cook-off sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society and the chance to win cash and prizes. Locals and amateurs are invited to show-off their talents in a barbecue cook-off, as well as a tailgating competition for the best sports team support. Free samples of the different types of barbecue cooked for the competition will be available in limited quantities. Full plates will be available for purchase by a variety of vendors.

There are children’s activities including jump castles and more.

Riley, Jr. will unveil the winning logo and honor the student designer at the 6th annual First Day Festival, Sunday, August 17, 2008.
