Amelia Island Hosts Storytelling Event in Jacksonville
Children experience 1880’s through First Person Character

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (July 28, 2008) – The Amelia Island Tourist Development Council (TDC) is hosting a free storytelling event for children (ages six and up) on Tuesday, August 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Children’s area of the Mandarin Branch of the Jacksonville Public Library (3330 Kori Road). Designed to entertain and educate children about Northeast Florida in the 1880s, the event will feature Amelia Island resident and author, Dickie Anderson, portraying Emma Goddard, a Victorian lady visiting Amelia Island in 1882.

Join a Park Ranger for a presentation and leisurely guided hike through different Florida ecosystems on a quest to characterize tracks left by an assortment of critters. This program will take place at the Ribault Club on Fort George Island Cultural State Park. No reservations are necessary and the program is free.
