The third annual BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival, scheduled for February 28-March 2, 2008, has been recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the Top 20 Events for the month of February 2008. To be considered for nomination the event had to be in at least their third year and have an attendance of at least 1,000. The winners receive recognition in over 800 newspapers, magazines, radio & television stations including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the New Orleans-based radio show “Travel Talk Radioâ€.
2007 Roundhouse Blues & BBQ Festival – Savannah, Georgia
The twelfth annual Roundhouse Blues & BBQ Festival features mouth-watering slow-cooked BBQ and world-class live blues music.
The event takes place at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum in downtown Savannah, in an open-air, historic setting. A historic steam locomotive is operated during the event. Between 3,000 and 8,000 people attend the two-night festival each year.

Lincolnville Festival Will Celebrate Oldest City’s African-American Heritage
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The African-American heritage of the Nation’s oldest city will be celebrated with music, food and fun when the Lincolnville Festival returns to St. Augustine’s Historic Lincolnville on November 2-4, 2007.
The festival gets underway on Friday with live R&B music, food, arts and crafts. Saturday features narrated tours of Historic Lincolnville sites, live country/pop, jazz and dance music throughout the day and a special “Soul Food†contest. On Sunday, the day’s entertainment features great gospel music – along with more food and more fun.
27th Annual Lincolnville Festival – St. Augustine, Fla
Celebrate St. Augustine’s rich African-American cultural heritage at the 27th annual Lincolnville Festival. One of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, more than half of Lincolnville’s buildings date from the late 19th century. Funds raised from the festival will be used for exhibits at the Fort Mose Museum. The festival kicks-off on Friday with live R&B music, food, and arts and crafts. Then on Saturday, there will be narrated tours of historic Lincolnville featuring the civil rights movement sites in the area, live country/pop, jazz and dance music all day with more arts and crafts and a “Soul Food Contestâ€.
