Celebrate Rodin – Figure Drawing Marathon – Charleston, South Carolina

Saturday, August 11, 2007 10am – 5pm

This is an all-day drawing marathon. Participants will choose to work from the figure (nude and costumed) in gradual movement, 10-minute, 30-minute and 1-hour poses. This is an opportunity for artists to connect with one another and hone their figure drawing skills. This class is for adult artists of all levels (students 16 and older may participate).

GIBBES MUSEUM OF ART

Established as the Carolina Art Association in 1858, the Gibbes Museum of Art opened its doors to the public in 1905. Located in Charleston’s historic district, the Gibbes houses a premier collection of over 10,000 works, principally American works with a Charleston or Southern connection and presents 12-15 special exhibitions annually. In addition, the museum offers an extensive complement of public programming and educational outreach initiatives.
