Industry Veteran Brings Experience and Passion to Charleston Favorite
McCrady’s Restaurant has appointed highly regarded industry veteran André Jean-Pierre Guillet as its new General Manager, effective immediately. Guillet will be responsible for overall management of McCrady’s restaurant and private dining operations. David Howard, President of The Neighborhood Dining Group, which manages McCrady’s, made the announcement.
“We are very excited and honored to have André join the team at McCrady’s,†said Howard. “He’s a seasoned veteran of fine dining who combines exceptional service with warmth and high visibility in his dining room. With more than thirty years in restaurant management, he brings exceptional leadership to the McCrady’s team. His passion for fine dining is infectious, and our guests will get to know him very quickly. He’s as excited about McCrady’s as we are.â€
The move to McCrady’s highlights a long and successful career for Guillet. He comes to Charleston from Brasserie 8½ in Manhattan, where as General Manager he enjoyed region-leading success for four years. Immediately before that, he was Director of Operations for the Signature Restaurants of Georges Perrier, also in Philadelphia, where he was directly responsible for three renowned fine dining restaurants: Le-Bec Fin, Le Mas Perrier, and Brasserie Perrier.
Guillet first distinguished himself as the founder of La Mascotte in Commack, New York in 1975. He led La Mascotte for eighteen years, earning three stars from the New York Times and being honored as Restaurateur of the Year by the Long Island Restaurant Association.
His success with La Mascotte convinced Le Meridien Hotel Boston to lure Guillet away to open and manage Julien, their fine dining restaurant. Under his leadership, Julien earned four stars from the Boston Herald and was named a Top Ten Boston Restaurant by Zagat. Guillet next moved to Philadelphia as Director of Operations for La Terrasse and Beaujolais, two unique French restaurants known for innovative cuisine and fine service, before joining Georges Perrier.
