Shrimpin’ n Shaggin’ – Charleston, South Carolina

August 28, 2007 by Susanne Talentino

Shrimpin’ n Shaggin’ “A New Lowcountry Tradition” combines two of the Lowcountry’s most loved activities – eating local shrimp dishes and dancing to favorite beach music tunes by The Men of Distinction and the East Coast Party Band.

From 11 am until 5pm at the Charleston Maritime Center the air will be filled with the aroma of fabulous local shrimp dishes. There will also be a shrimp dish contest, dance contest and and plenty of activities for all. Don’t forget to visit the local shrimp boat offering fresh catch to take home. We invite families and friends to bring their chairs and blankets an enjoy all the local color of the second Shrimpin’ n Shaggin’ Festival.

Tickets are $10 and children under 12 are free. Park in the garage at Calhoun and Concord streets (next to the SC Aquarium) and catch a free ride on the Absolutely Charleston shuttle.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the SC Shrimpers’ Association, Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding and the National Association of Catering Executives’ scholarship programs.
