The Annual Park Day Festival – Daniel Island, S.C.

September 24, 2007 by Susanne Talentino

The Annual Park Day Festival takes place at Daniel Island on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. Now in its seventh year, this “day of giving” has become a fall tradition not to miss! The community will showcase its civic pride and philanthropic spirit.

This is a fun-filled festival perfect for the whole family. It features activities, field games, food and live music. Park Day has evolved into one of Charleston’s broadest scope charitable events, raising money and awareness for more than 20 area non-profit organizations.

More than 30 entertaining and educational Park Day events will take place along the banks of the Wando River and at Children’s Park at the end of River Landing Drive. In 2006, approximately 8,000 Daniel Island and Lowcountry residents enjoyed a picture-perfect Park Day, helping raise more than $30,000 for area non-profit organizations.

Admission and parking are free. Some events will require a nominal fee in order to raise money for area non-profit organizations.
