Cool Ideas and Hot Products at the Home and Patio Show – Jacksonville, Fla.

October 2, 2007 by Susanne Talentino

jacksonville-home-and-patioCool ideas and hot products are in the forecast when the Jacksonville Home and Patio Show returns to downtown’s Prime Osborn Convention Center October 4-7, 2007. The highly anticipated annual consumer show will fill every inch of the facility with home improvement ideas, interactive seminars and the hottest new products.

This year’s fall edition includes:
Celebrity Appearances. Get expert advice from Tim Luke of HGTV’s Cash in the Attic.
Luke, who has an extensive background in antiques and collectibles, is the featured appraiser on HGTV’s Cash in the Attic, and has participated as an appraiser on public television’s Antiques Roadshow. He has appeared on the Today Show, The View, Oprah, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, CNN, Lifetime Television and the Discovery Channel.
Joining Luke on the celebrity stage is Mary “Bed and Bath Lady” Grover, who brings humorous and dynamic presentations full of “I never knew that” ideas and tips for creating gendersensitive living environments, secrets and techniques for recreating lavish “department store” looks in the bedroom, and inexpensive tricks for making the bed and bath rival the world’s top resorts.
Step Inside A Victorian Home. Tour a 1,000 square-foot replica of a Victorian home surrounded by English garden — built right inside the Convention Center.
“We are so excited to create this area. It will reflect an ‘old meets new’ theme, and give visitors insight on how you can have an older home and furnish it with up to date décor to make it fabulous,” said Hillary Carpenter Lyons, Show Manager.
Hot Product Showcase. The Jacksonville Home and Patio Show is the place to find the newest products, coolest gadgets and best home improvement deals. More than 400 vendors will give guests a chance to see, touch and feel hot home products– and go home with ideas and tips that can be put to immediate use.
The show also features a canned food drive for the Clara White Mission, the return of the Kid’s Koo Koo Carnival and educational seminars.
Show hours are Thursday and Friday, Noon-9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.– 9 pm.; and Sunday, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Admission at the door is $9 for adults and $5 for children 6-12 years old. On Thursday only, senior (62 and older) admission is $5. For updates and more information, call (904) 730-356 or visit www.jacksonvillehomeshows.com.
