Children of the Corn
If you are looking for a good family outing, head to the West Family’s 6-acre corn maze for some good old-fashioned fun. The maze features over 3 miles of trails in the shape of the Palmetto state.
You can visit the West Farm Corn Maze until October 28th. When you arrive you will be given a map to help find your way, but will you will have to use your best map-reading skills to find all twelve checkpoints. The Swamp Thing
It’s Halloween in the Swamp from October 26 – 27. This event is so popular that it’s been scheduled for two nights this year, and no wonder. Cypress Gardens you can take a haunted boat ride, or take a stroll on the haunted walking trail, roast marshmallows, visit the kids fun house, listen to stories around the campfire and much more. Spooky Nights in Summerville
Summerville Ghost Walk and Harvest Moon Hayride takes place on October 27 in the Town Square from 5-8 p.m. Ghost stories are told at various downtown locations – and these scary stories are probably OK for the little ones. A Bone Chilling Howl at Boone Hall
The Spook-tacular Howl-O-Ween at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens begins long before actual Halloween. Here you can pick your own Pumpkins, get lost in a Corn Maze, visit the Haunted Mansion or go on a Hay Ride. The Corn Maze feature a six acre maze, so you can keep your family busy here for a while. After you find the perfect pumpkin, families can enjoy Happy Jack, the animated talking pumpkin, snacks and even a farm animal area. The popular Fright Nights include Haunted Hayrides and The Haunted House – which remains open until midnight on weekends.

Something Fishy
The South Carolina Aquarium arranges a special Halloween inspired event for the young ones, Fish or Treat, on October 30. Visitors can “fish or treat” throughout the Aquarium, enjoy divers of the deep lurking in the Great Ocean Tank, boogie at the monster mash dance party and join in many other ghoulish games. Go to Jail
Spend Halloween by taking a tour of Charleston’s Most Haunted Building. Built in 1801, The Old City Jail operated for 139 years housing pirates, Union POW’s, slaves, as well as Charleston’s most notorious serial killers. Nightly at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, & 10pm.
