ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (November 2007) – The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, located within the lush 6,300-acre World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida, is nearing completion of an impressive $10 million renovation. The project includes the complete remodeling of all 301 guest rooms and suites, dramatic changes to the resort’s lobby atrium, remodeling of the restaurant and bar, new lighting throughout the public spaces, remodeling of all guest room corridors, enhancements to the main ballroom and meeting offerings, and even the addition of a new “signature scent.†The renovation of the Northeast Florida resort is slated for completion by January 2008.
“There’s not a part of the resort that isn’t being touched by this multi-million dollar upgrade,†said Mark Schwantner, general manager of the award-winning resort. “We’re very excited about all of these changes, and know that guests will just love all of the enhancements.â€
The remodeling of many of the guest rooms and suites is already complete, with the remaining slated for completion by December 2007. All guest rooms and suites will soon feature all new furniture, soft goods, window treatments, and lighting. In addition, rooms and suites will feature new flat screen televisions, and the signature Marriott JackPack, which provides complete connectivity to the guests for laptops, IPODs, cameras, and game systems.
The rooms and suites will have a contemporary design with an Asian feel, which includes rich red bed coverings with crisp white linens, along with a complementary color scheme of warm neutral gold. In-room offerings also include high-speed Internet access, two telephones with data ports, a wet bar and refrigerator, and in-room coffee.
Bathrooms in the guest rooms and suites feature all new vanities, lighting, and wallpaper in a more modern design, as well as new granite countertops. The wood vanities have been custom made, and offer a spa-like setting with niches for towels and other amenities.
All guest room corridors will soon feature new carpeting with different shades of green accented by bright reds, blues and gold. Walls will be covered in a rich, red wallcovering with gold accents, and new lighting will illuminate the space.
The entry of the resort will boast beautiful new flooring, wood-wrapped columns, and accents of the Florida citrus colors. Guests will now have the option to check-in at the front desk, or they may choose to check-in unassisted at the new kiosks positioned in the lobby.
The entry will lead to a dramatically remodeled 10-story atrium lobby, which will now have a Colonial/Asian theme with new furniture in hues of blue and green, new carpeting, new lighting, an enhanced waterfall and stream, and lush foliage (including bamboo) throughout to fit the Asian theme. Probably the most dramatic change to the atrium will be the addition of a new 7-story modern hanging sculpture that captures the wind and air elements, reminiscent of open Florida skies.
In addition, the lobby will feature new conversational seating areas, which will also be positioned near the resort’s bar. The bar is being remodeled, and will feature a large center-standing TV, with new furniture in colors of vibrant red and orange with accents of bright green. The adjacent restaurant will boast a picturesque full-length wine wall, as well as colorful new furniture, warm wood tones and new lighting.
The resort’s 26,450-square-foot St. Augustine Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 2,700 guests for receptions or 3,000 for theater-style, will get new carpet and wall finishes. The resort is also adding flex-back chairs for all meeting space.
