Ponte Vedra Beach, FL — Please join us on December 11, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. to celebrate, “The Art of Aging,” paintings, drawings, sculptures and photos created by senior citizens who participated in The Cultural Center’s innovative arts outreach program for underserved seniors over the age of 60. This celebration luncheon and special exhibition will be held at THE PLAYERS Community Senior Center at 175 Landrum Lane, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
The program uses the arts to explore the issues of depression, isolation, loneliness, and deteriorating health problems common among the aging population.
We invite you to meet the instructors, Sarah Barber, Rhonda Maurer and Dawn Wolf and their talented “young at heart” artists as they take you on a journey of transformation through their artwork.
This Art of Aging outreach program is generously sponsored by:
The Woodcock Foundation For The Appreciation Of The Arts
Florida Department of State, State Division of Cultural Affairs
United Way of NEFL Life Act 2
Because we are a community that cares about all of our citizens, The Cultural Center takes a pro-active response to the challenges faced by our community’s seniors by engaging seniors citizens in need of companionship and in jeopardy of health issues, in an arts education program at The PLAYERS Community Senior Center. This arts program values their life experience and uses the arts to combat issues that many face later in life – loneliness, isolation and depression-failing health, and provides an engaging environment to continue a process of life long learning through the arts.
