Special Event at Ponte Vedra Cultural Center’s March Art @ 3 Lecture Series with Jenna Madison
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL – The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach announces a special presentation on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Titled “Happenings at the High,” Jenna Madison, Coordinator of Museum Interpretation at the High Museum of Art, will discuss the High’s partnership with the Louvre and current Louvre Atlanta installations, The Louvre and the Ancient World and The Eye of Josephine.
Ms. Madison will also be talking about two exciting exhibitions opening at the High in February, Georgia O’Keeffe and the Women of the Stieglitz Circle and TRANSactions: Contemporary Latin American and Latino Art. Finally, she’ll give a sneak peek into what the High has planned for the final year of the Louvre partnership; the summer exhibitions Road to Freedom and After 1968; and the blockbuster exhibition The First Emperor: China’s Terracotta Army, which is coming to the High in November 2008.
Jenna Madison joined the Education Department at the High Museum of Art in April 2005. She came to Atlanta from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art where she was a resource specialist in the Koret Visitor Education Center and worked with the museum’s Interactive Technology Team on the development of interpretive materials for the multi-media program, “Making Sense of Modern Art.” In her capacity as Coordinator of Museum Interpretation at the High, she works closely with the curatorial staff in developing a variety of interpretive tools for visitors to use in the permanent collection and special exhibitions. She holds a Master of Arts degree in art history from San Jose State University. Her area of specialization is 20th century art and modern and contemporary art theory and criticism.
