College of Medicine hopes to top the record setting $40,000 raised for charity in 2007.
The Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Medicine will hold its Twenty First Annual Charity Ball at the Omar Shrine Convention Center on Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 8:00 until 12:30. All are invited to attend this black tie optional event, including a silent auction, open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres and entertainment provided by Permanent Vacation. The Charity Ball benefits local charities and is the College of Medicine’s largest single charitable event, planned entirely by medical students, raising over $270,000 in the past several years. This year’s proceeds will benefit Crisis Ministries, Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, East Cooper Meals on Wheels, Lowcountry Food Bank, Rise Up and Read, and The CARES Clinic.
