Christ Episcopal Church 55th Annual Tour of Homes and Gardens – St Simons Island, Georgia

February 26, 2008 by Joe Talentino

The Annual Tour of Homes and Gardens returns to the coast every Spring season. This annual tour is sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women of the historic Christ Church, Frederica. The Annual Tour of Homes and Gardens has been described as one of the premier tours in the entire Southeast.

Visitors will be treated to homes and gardens on both Islands featuring styles ranging from low-country, old south plantations to old world European estates. In addition to the elegant homes so generously opened for this special event, tour stops will include Musgrove Plantation; Wesley Memorial Gardens and Christ Church. Each stop on the tour will offer something unique, either through its’ architecture, location, decoration or landscaping.

One of the most popular stops is the historic Christ Church itself. Refreshments are always served in the Parish House by the members of the congregation and make a relaxing break in the day.

The tour has historically been very successful and the money raised has been turned back into the community in support of charitable, educational and Christian organizations.
