7th Annual Lowcountry Cajun Festival – James Island, South Carolina

March 30, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

Enjoy jambalaya, alligator, etouffe, andouille sausage and of course, crawfish, crawfish, crawfish! Also enjoy Lowcountry favorites like red rice, seafood, and tangy Southern barbecue. And for those who prefer a tamer menu, we’ll be serving up healthy portions of hot dogs, burgers, funnel cakes, and more. If you’re a crawfish connoisseur, the annual crawfish-eating contest is the perfect opportunity to show off your unique talent!

Non-stop music throughout the day will keep your hips swingin’ and toes tappin’. Dance in the grassy fields to the irresistible sounds of Big Red & The Zydeco Playmakers and Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble. Other festivities include a crafter market and mechanical, inflatable, and carnival games for kids.

Admission is $8 in advance before March 24 and $10 at the gate. This event is free for ages 12 and under with paying adult. Gold pass holders are admitted FREE to this event as well. No coolers or outside alcohol permitted. Pets not permitted. Call 795-4FUN (4386) or visit www.ccprc.com/cajun!
