Lowcountry Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall – Charleston, South Carolina

April 2, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

Strawberries…Strawberries…and more strawberries… are the centerpiece at Boone Hall Plantation for one of the most popular special events held in the Lowcountry every spring. The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival features a large variety of attractions and activities that are guaranteed fun for all ages. A Giant Ferris Wheel…a carousel…the unique Berry-Go-Round…jump castles…slides…and a carriage ride around the plantation…all are just a few of the amusements available for families to enjoy. There’s also music of all kinds, clowns, recipe and pie eating contests, and much much more. And no visit to Boone Hall during this festival would be complete without a chance for the family to pick their own strawberries from our U-Pick fields. It’s two fun filled days and a great way for families to kick off the spring each year.

This year, there will be sweet red juicy strawberries a-plenty that are grown right at Boone Hall Farms. Innovative farming practices put into place with this season’s crop, should yield more than double what has been produced over previous years. According to Boone Hall Farms Director Of Agriculture Brock White, this crop will be here earlier, taste sweeter, and last longer. For current U-Pick info, call our Produce Line at 843-856-5366.

Admission will be $4 for adults… children 12 and under $2. Discount ticket packages will be available for all rides, food, and strawberries, making this year’s event more affordable for the whole family.
