Chef Tim Armstrong, formally of Maverick Southern Kitchens, brings his innovative cuisine to Summerville. Armstrong brings over 20 years of experience to his restaurant relish downtown in the heart of historic downtown Summerville, South Carolina.
A Maryland native, Armstrong started honing his culinary skills as a teenager, when his mentor, and Certified Master Chef, recognizing his talents, suggested he attend culinary school. In 1998, he graduated with honors from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Upon graduation, he continued his training by working in New York City. Armstrong worked as a sous chef at such well -known restaurants as Petrossian in mid-town Manhattan and Blue Fin in Times Square, before teaming up with celebrity chef Michael Lomonaco (Windows on The World, Noche, Porterhouse) as his Executive Chef at the Shore House Restaurant in Stamford, CT.
In June of 2006 after being wooed by the team at Maverick Southern Kitchens, Armstrong and his family moved to South Carolina where he served as Executive Chef at the Old Village Post House in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Tim Armstrong is excited to bring his years of experience from up and down the east coast to open relish downtown, an upscale bistro featuring contemporary cuisine while taking advantage of the best of South Carolina’s fresh & local ingredients. The restaurant is located at 114 Short Central Avenue, directly across the street from the new free parking garage in downtown Summerville. They will be serving lunch Tuesday through Saturday 11am -2:30pm, dinner Tuesday through Thursday 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., and Sunday brunch 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are recommended but not required. Large parties and private functions are welcome. For reservations please call 843-821-7151
