Mad Science Saturday- Earthquakes and Volcanoes – Charleston, S.C.

May 2, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

Become geologists in training as you learn about the science of the Earth. Investigate the formation of mountains and learn about the forces that cause earthquakes. Learn about the hot molten rock that makes up the earth’s mantle called ‘magma’ and how the tectonic plates shift and cause the magma to force its way up into volcanoes where it erupts. You will get to make your own volcano! Every month The Charleston Museum offers a special Saturday program dedicated to providing an educational and exciting experience for the whole family. Join us each month for a different themed event including presentations and craft projects for children of all ages.

FREE for Museum members and FREE with admission ($10/adults, $5/children, under 3 free)10 a.m.-12 p.m.
