Charleston Community Band: Patriotic Concert

June 18, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

Kick of the Independence Day holiday with a patriotic concert offered by the Charleston Community Band on July 3rd at 6 p.m. at the Pierce Park Pool and Pavilion (1801 Pierce Street) on Daniel Island. The event is open to the public.

The Charleston Community Band has served the tri-county area by providing musical entertainment for over 30 years at civic events throughout the lowcountry. The 60-piece band is an all-volunteer organization conducted by Mr. Todd Jenkins. Their wide-appeal is due to the make-up of their ensemble being of every age and walk of life, professional and amateur participation, and the varied nature of their repertoire from popular to classical to patriotic music. Concerts presented by the Community Band are free of charge. For more information about the band, visit their website www.charlestoncommunityband.com or contact the band’s president Kate Kiel at 884-6979.
