Bloody Marsh Musket Program – St. Simons Island, GA

Experience life in colonial Georgia with a demonstration of the Bloody Marsh Musket program. This program includes introduction of the Battle of Bloody Marsh and the effects this war had on Frederica and the colony of Georgia told by re-enactors. The Bloody Marsh Musket Program is given periodically through the year. For details call the park at 912-638-3639.

June 28, July 26, September 27 and November 22nd at 2 pm.

The Bloody Marsh Unit is located on St. Simon’s Island, off of Demere Road. It is open 8:30 am to 4:00 pm 7 days a week, except for Christmas Day.

Free Day in the Parks – Georgia

Free Day in the Parks, Presented by Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites takes place on Saturday, June 14, 2008 in Georgia’s 63 State Parks & Historic Sites. Every visitor will receive free parking and waived admission fees to any Georgia state park or historic site

Saturday kicks off the state’s “Get Outdoors Georgia” initiative whereby every one of Georgia’s 63 state parks and state historic sites will be free for every visitor on Saturday, June 14 – just in time for Father’s Day weekend. All parking fees and admission fees will be waived for a full day to enjoy hiking, fishing, boating, picnicking and dozens of other activities in Georgia’s diverse and beautiful outdoors. Dozens of events, such as fishing rodeos and guided hikes, are planned across the state. Free Day in the Parks is made possible by support from The Coca-Cola Company.
