Summerville Art Walk and Concert Cancelled

August 21, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

The concert and Art Walk scheduled for tonight in Downtown Summerville has been cancelled tonight due to inclement weather.  The concert featuring Bobby Alvarez from Plane Jane will be postponed to a later date.

The concert is a part of the DREAMfest series held on Third Thursdays in Downtown Summerville from May to September, 5 to 8 p.m.  DREAMfest, a gathering of exhibits, entertainment, refreshments and featured artists, includes an Art Walk featuring local artists on Short Central and a free community concert in the 2008 concert series on Hutchinson Square.  Shops and restaurants are open until 8 p.m. and civic organizations are encouraged to have booths around the downtown district.

The next event will be held Thursday, Sept. 18.  The concert will feature Common Ground, one of Charleston’s longest running bluegrass bands.  Don’t miss it!

For more information, call the DREAM office at 821-7260 or Alix Kassing, Art Walk Chair, at 832-6709 to participate in the Art Walk.
