Free Concert Featuring Common Ground in Summerville

Last Concert of the Season!
September 15, 2008, Summerville, SC — Summerville D.R.E.A.M. hosts a free community concert featuring Common Ground. The concert will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Hutchinson Square in Historic Downtown Summerville.

Common Ground is one of Charleston’s longest running bluegrass groups blending the traditional sounds of banjo, acoustic guitar and bass with harmonica giving them a unique sound unrivaled in the Lowcountry. The band also features the grassroots harmonies that bluegrass is known for. Covering a multitude of traditional music, Common Ground also compose their own original tunes.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited and admission is free. Bring a beach blanket or a lawn chair.

The concert is a part of the DREAMfest series held on Third Thursdays in Downtown Summerville that has been going on from May to September, 5 to 8 p.m. DREAMfest, a gathering of exhibits, entertainment, refreshments and featured artists, includes an Art Walk featuring local artists on Short Central and a free community concert in the 2008 concert series on Hutchinson Square. Shops and restaurants will be open until 8 p.m. and civic organizations will be encouraged to have booths around the downtown district. This will be the final concert of the season so don’t miss it!
