November 6, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

On Jekyll Island there is a memorial dedication ceremony in remembrance of the survivors of The Wanderer which landed on Jekyll Island 150 years ago. The Wanderer was the last known slave ship to reach Georgia and the last successful slaving expedition known to have reached the United States. The 150th anniversary of the landing will be commemorated by the installation of a permanent exhibit dedicated to the survivors of that voyage.

The event takes place on November 25, 2008, 4:30 p.m. at St. Andrews Picnic Area, Jekyll Island, GA
This is an Exhibit & Commemorative Program by the Jekyll Island Museum
