Swing into history during this annual golf tournament to benefit the Fort Mose State Park’s new Visitor Information Center. In 1738, the Spanish governor of Florida chartered Fort Mose as a settlement for freed Africans who had fled slavery in the British Carolinas. Proceeds from the tournament will be used for displays that demonstrate the life of America’s first free African American community.
