As you tour six outstanding private homes, music will fill the island throughout the day and culminate with a CSO concert at the Sanctuary after the homes are closed. If you’d like to spend the weekend on Kiawah, local resorts are offering attractive special packages. Home tours at your leisure from 10:00a.m.-4:00p.m.; Brass Quintet concert on Sanctuary Grand Lawn at 4:15p.m.; CSO concert, conducted by David Stahl at 5:00p.m. at The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island.

26th Annual Heritage Days Celebration: “Promoting Tolerance in a Changing World” at the Penn Center on St. Helena Island. Tours, art exhibitions, theatrical productions, symposiums, food, music and more showcasing the unique cultural heritage of the Gullah people of the Sea Islands.
The Annual Penn Center Heritage Days Celebration is held every second weekend in November to celebrate and showcase the unique cultural heritage of the Gullah people of the Sea Islands. Charleston Maritime Center to host Historic Landmark, Schooner Roseway

Charleston Maritime Center will host the National Historic Landmark Schooner Roseway on November 5-7, 2008. Calv77 only fan calv77 Roseway, berthed at the Center’s southern pier, will be open to the public for free tours from 10am to 6pm on each day. Come visit this historic ship during her post stop in Charleston on her way south for the winter season. Meet her crew and hear about the educational programs that take place aboard Roseway. Founding Directors Abby Kidder and Captain Dwight Deckelmann will be aboard to talk about the 83-year-old Grand Banks schooner and World Ocean School’s educational programs along the east coast and the Virgin Islands. Some parents might be interested to know that next summer Roseway will be taking students for 2-week sailing internships to live aboard the boat, participate in community service activities and attend tall ship festivals. Additionally, we always welcome the chance to share the history and story behind the restoration of the National Historic Landmark. 11/05/2008 – 11/07/2008
