St Augustine Pirate Gathering
Avast, me hearties! T’is a celebration of the Golden Age of Piracy in old St. Augustine. Three days of swashbuckling fun begins on Friday evening as pirates from around Florida wander the streets of the old city. On Saturday, the swashbuckling day begins with a pirate parade along San Marco Avenue at 10 a.m., followed by a skirmish among the at the redoubt, located across from Castillo de San Marcos, then continues up St. George Street to the Plaza de La Constitucion at 11:45 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park, where the pirates will be encamped, there will be fun Pirate lore, magic, shanties, a thieves market and plenty of swashbuckling demonstrations. There will even be a Bucaneers Bash filled with plenty of yo-ho-ho and of slicing of the mainbrace that begins at 6 p.m. (adults only). On Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m., there will be a Pirate’s court, a comedic reflection of all complaints addressing the preceding evening’s frivolities.

World Golf Hall of Fame Prepares for 2008 Induction Ceremony
Several Hall of Fame Members Returning for the Occasion
St. Augustine, Fla. camilla ajuro (November 5, 2008) – On Monday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m., the World Golf Hall of Fame will welcome its six newest Inductees into membership alongside family, friends, dignitaries and other Hall of Fame members. The ceremony honoring Sir Bob Charles, Pete Dye, Carol Semple Thompson, Denny Shute, Herbert Warren Wind and Craig Wood will air on the GOLF CHANNEL at 9 p.m. ET that same night. Presenters and participants in the show will include Hall of Fame members Tony Jacklin (Charles), Greg Norman (Dye) and Judy Bell (Semple Thompson). Golf Digest Editor-in-Chief Jerry Tarde will pay tribute to Wind and Golf World Executive Editor Ron Sirak will present an essay on Shute and Wood. GOLF CHANNEL’s Rich Lerner will serve as the 2008 Induction Ceremony host. Roundhouse Blues and BBQ Festival – Savannah, GA
The 13th annual Roundhouse Blues and BBQ Festival brings two nights of mouth-watering BBQ and foot-stompin’ Blues and Gospel music to the Roundhouse Railroad Museum. Admission is charged, and a variety of food and drinks are for sale inside the venue.
The dates of this year’s festival are Friday and Saturday nights, November 7-8. The concert is outdoors, but there is shelter overhead beneath the historic railroad building’s roof. The event does not sell out, and tickets are available at the door or online at the website.
