The anticipated Georgia vs. Florida Football Classic events takes place October 27-November 1, 2008
Game Day is on Saturday November 1 with Kickoff at 3:30 p.m.
It’s the greatest football event of the year for both Bulldogs and Gators fans! Join the party that attracts fans from all over to Jacksonville. Don’t miss the Championship Dreams Festival (the home of interactive games and autograph sessions with sports greats), Suncoast RV City, Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and much more.

The Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Board created the Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame to acknowledge the many great records, performances, career highlights and outstanding memories that have made the Georgia-Florida game one of college football’s great traditions.

Four outstanding individuals will join the current Hall of Fame members for their roles in making the Georgia-Florida Football Classic the storied match that it is today. For Information (904) 630-3600

Championship Dreams Festival
Saturday, November 1
Time TBD, Outside Jacksonville Municipal Stadium’s South End Zone

The Championship Dreams Festival is the free, interactive attraction taking place during the Georgia vs. Florida weekend. Interactive games and festivities include:

* Sports Illustrated/Nissan tent
* No ticket? No problem! Sit on your team’s side and watch the big game and all of the pre-and post-game hype on giant TV screens.

* Make a music video at the Dance Heads booth.

* Challenge your rival team to one of the many interactive games at the End Zone.

* Play Arm Chair Football and dunk your opposing team at the Georgia-Florida dunk tables.

* Tune in to 1010 XL and 930 AM The Fox and check out their live radio broadcasts.

* Pick up the latest Bulldog and Gator merchandise from a variety of vendors.

* Visit the Fair Catch inflatable and test your red zone defense mentality.

* Show your spirit with free face painting and temporary tattoos in team colors and logos.

* Test your knowledge about this great college match up at the Georgia-Florida Trivia Game.

* Visit one of the Georgia-Florida information booths located on Adams Street and the Championship Dreams Festival for helpful volunteers that can answer your questions. Other items include maps, schedule of events, transportation information and more.

* Food and Beverage Vendors
Beverage booths will remain open until the end of the game to accommodate fans viewing the game on the jumbotrons. Alcohol sales will cease at the end of the third quarter.

Adams Street Experience
Located on the west side of the stadium between Lot J and Lot M

* Check out the new collegiate line of PINK by Victoria’s Secret.

* Visit the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion Climbing Wall.

* Sit on your team’s side and watch the big game and all of the pre-and post-game hype on giant TV screens.

* Get some free samples from Texas Pete, Eckrich’s Sausages and Rotel.

RV City Campground

Parking opens Wednesday, Oct. 296 a.m.Reserved area, Lot E

* $75 per space each day, midnight to midnight, self-contained RVs. Trash containers, dump station and security included. All RVs must have exhaust pipe extensions in parking lots.
* RV entrance will be determined by police and attendants, not on a first-come, first-served basis. Saving spaces will not be allowed.
* Cars in tow that are attached to RVs MUST be parked in Lot G and will incur the $20 per day parking charges. Auto parking is limited, first-come, first-served.
* All vehicles parked on city lots to visit Georgia-Florida campers on Friday, Oct. 31 must be removed by 2 a.m. on Saturday morning. Failure to do so will result in vehicles being towed at the expense of the owner.

RV City Entertainment and Activities Thursday, Oct. 30

Campground Decorating Contest
Attention campers! Don’t miss this chance to show off your team spirit and win exciting prizes. Campground visitors are encouraged to decorate their campers with the most colorful and elaborate decorations, signs, lights and banners. The sky’s the limit!

Decorations must be complete by 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31. Displays will be judged at that time and winners will be announced at 4 p.m. Participants can win prizes in the following categories:

* Best Gator Spirit and 1st Runner Up
* Best Bulldog Spirit and 1st Runner Up
* Best Halloween Spirit

7 p.m.- 11 p.m.
Dueling Pianos
Kick off the big weekend with entertainment by Dueling Pianos.

Campground Mini-Mart
Forgot something at home? Stop by the RV City Mini-mart for all your tailgating needs! Located in RV City, Lot E.

RV City Restrictions No retail or commercial business allowed within the campground area without prior written approval from the City of Jacksonville.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, golf carts and motorized scooters will not be permitted in the Sports Complex area. Authorized personnel only.

Bicycles and rickshaws are permitted but will be asked to leave if they obstruct traffic. Riding on sidewalks is not permitted.

23rd Annual Great Chowder Debate – St Augustine, Florida

Who can resist a good debate? Even if you’ve had enough of political debates, check this one out. This is a different kind of debate. Here you can satisfy your passion for great seafood chowder at the Conch House Marina’s celebrated annual Great Chowder Debate. More than 30 area restaurants will compete to see who has the best chowder – each special entry is available for tasting with taste tickets sold for $1 each. An astounding variety of chowders will be available – from local favorites like the Menorcan chowders to an assortment of New England chowders – made with clams, conch, lobster, scallops and crab and laced with secret concoctions of herbs and spices. The event starts at noon and runs throughout the day. All proceeds benefit the Shriners’ Hospitals for Crippled Children. The Conch House Marina is located at 57 Comares Avenue in St. Augustine.

A Night of Storytelling – Jekyll Island, Georgia

Milbre Burch, A Night of Storytelling at Jekyll Island Club Hotel, Georgia. Master storyteller Milbre Burch of Columbia, Missouri, performs a concert of her finest stories for this event that begins at 7:30 p.m: “A Haunting Good Night – Scary Stories for Adults.” This is a rare opportunity to hear one of the nation’s most distinguished tellers. An internationally known storyteller, award-winning recording artist, published poet and writer, and respected teacher of her craft, Burch is a storyteller in every sense of the word. She was nominated for a Grammy Award in February in the category, “Spoken Word for Children.”

Ms. Burch has appeared at the National Storytelling Festival numerous times and received a “Storytelling Oscar,” the Circle of Excellence Award, from the National Storytelling Network in 1999. In addition she has been featured at spoken word and theatre festivals across the nation and in twelve European cities. Ms. stepdaughter mumia112 Burch has performed with the Lincoln Center Institute in New York, the Music Center on Tour, the Performing Tree and the University of Phoenix in California. In addition she has been a teaching artist for the National Conversations Project of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Her work in designing and implementing a now-ten-year-old storytelling residency at the Walden School in Pasadena, California, has been lauded as a national model at education conferences across the country. Following her performance at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel is a dessert reception where the audience may meet the artist. This event takes place on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 7:30pm

The Greater Jacksonville Agriculture Fair invites you to join us as we annually celebrate our heritage, culture and community, by providing good wholesome family fun, great entertainment, friendly competition and educational experiences for the whole family! The Fair is where agriculture, industry, education and recreation unite in a cooporative effort for twelve days to dynamically portray the resources and accomplishments of the Jacksonville area.
