Mandarin Art Festival and Egg Hunt – Jacksonville, Florida

Arts enthusiasts travel to this event to visit during the two-day weekend.
Here you’ll find everything from painting, jewelry, glasswork, to pottery, sculpture, photography and more. There will also be a variety of homemade goodies at the Bake Sale at the Mandarin Art Festival.

The egg hunt takes place on Easter Sunday at 1:30 for kids ten years or younger. Bring your own baskets to Walter Jones Historical Park on Mandarin Road. This event is a joint venture between Mandarin Community Club and Mandarin Museum & Historical Society.

The Riverside Arts Market – Jacksonville, Florida

The Riverside Arts Market had its Grand Opening in April. This riverfront artists’ market was visited by over 40,000 people on the first day, so this market to be one of the hot spots to visit in downtown Jacksonville.

Riverside Arts marketThe market takes place on Saturdays from 10 am – 4 pm beneath the Fuller Warren Bridge. The market features the work of 160 artists, accompanied by musical entertainment, street performers, food vendors, and a fresh produce market.

Egg Hunt at Middleton Place – Charleston, SC

Spring flowers are abound in America ‘s oldest landscaped gardens at Middleton Place in Charleston, South Carolina. This beautiful location will be the spot for an exceptional egg hunt during the Easter Eggstravaganza. The Easter Bunny himself (or is it a she?) will lead all kids in the hunt for candy and prize eggs, hidden for children of all age groups. Natural egg dyeing in the Plantation Stableyards. Easter Egg Stroll on Jekyll Island, Georgia

The Jekyll Island Authority and several Jekyll Island volunteer citizens have teamed up to coordinate the first annual Easter Egg Stroll on Saturday April 11th. The Stroll is a laid back alternative to the Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Festival previously held. It is geared toward young children ages 6 and under. All eggs will be numbered and can be redeemed for prizes at the Easter Egg Stroll Information Booth located near the Sweet Shoppe. One unspecified number will merit a grand prize. There will be 12 of these lucky grand prize eggs hidden. Otherwise small prizes will be awarded based on the number of eggs found, with a limit of 20 per child. Once the eggs are redeemed for prizes, they will be re-hidden for other children to find throughout the afternoon.

In addition to the Easter Egg Stroll, the Jekyll Island History Center will also offer a special free tram ride at 11:30 that day. Guests are encouraged to wear their best Easter attire and take a 20 minute, kid-friendly tram ride through the beautiful Jekyll Island Club National Historic Landmark District. The ride will end near the Easter Egg Stroll Information Booth where the kids can begin their egg hunt. Although the ride is free, spaces are limited. Railwatch Day in Folkston, Georgia

Love trains? Come to Folkston for Railwatch Days on Saturday April 11, 2009. This event brings train aficionados from all across the country to observe, record and enjoy trains. The railroad junction in Folkston sees more trains passing through than any other railroad junction on the eastern seaboard, so no wonder this is a place to visit for the enthusiasts.

  • Free coffee and donuts at the platform at daybreak on Saturday morning.

  • New Town railroad mural dedication at noon

  • Editing your railroad video for YouTube – Danny Harmon (clinic at old depot) at 2:00pm
