October means fish, fun and… frights at the Scary’um Aquarium! Ghouls & Buoys of all ages can celebrate the scariest season at the South Carolina Aquarium and discover eerie exhibits, scary shows and more all month long! Embark on a family-friendly Haunted Hike in the Aquarium’s newest exhibit, Camp Carolina, featuring a spooky trail and things that go bump in the night. Plus, Kids can celebrate Halloween all month with a special $2 children’s admission discount for all kids in costume! Get ready for Halloween at the Aquarium’s annual Fish or Treat! Bash, Thursday, October 30, a Member’s only event filled with fun, prizes, games and more Admission to Fish or Treat is $5 for Members only. Reservations are required. Scarecrow Stroll – St Marys

This event is part of the Hay Days in St Marys. The Downtown Merchants will be hosting an evening of fun for your entire family called “The Scarecrow Stroll.” During the hours of 5-7PM visitors are invited to view all of the creative scarecrows, enjoy free hay rides down main street and pick up a treat from downtown businesses.

Jacksonville Jaycee’s 33rd Annual Hall of Terror

The 33rd Annual Hall of Terror Haunted House attraction begins on Friday, October 10th. Selected dates through November 1st will provide North Florida with fourteen days of terror. Adventure Landing will again be hosting its “not-so-scary” HalloWEE Zone for kids (and parents) eight and under. It features arts and crafts, face painting, a bouncy house, games and goody bags for all the kids.
Adventure Landing Also Offering Haunted River Ride
In addition to the Hall of Terror and HalloWEE Zone, new this year is a Haunted River Ride. The Lil’ St. John’s Lazy River in Adventure Landing’s waterpark has been converted to a haunted ride, where passengers will hop on a raft where haunted surprises await.
Adventure Landing and the Jaycees originally joined forces in 2005 with Adventure Landing, who provides the building for the Hall of Terror (in the Laser Tag arena), marketing, cash handling and staffing of the HalloWEE Zone for families. The Jaycees provided the Hall of Terror name recognition, 30 years of haunted house experience, 20-30 actors (Jaycee volunteers) to enhance the attraction and many of the props.
