The Jacksonville Axemen have had an undefeated season and they are now only ONE GAME AWAY from going to the National Championship in New York City on the 29th of this month.
But for that to happen, they need to defeat Boston on Saturday Aug 22nd at UNF’s Hodges
Stadium. The Axemen are hoping for a record crowd since this is their first ever 2nd round
home playoff and the first chance at the National Championship. So please, come out and support the team! The game time has been moved to 4pm (over by 5.30pm) to accommodate those
fans who plan to make the Jags Pre Season game as well.

Florida Heritage Book Festival in St Augustine 2009

Believe it or not, but it’s that time of year again. Time flies when you’re having fun, doesn’t it?

This festival on Sept 11-12, 2009, is an action-packed event for anyone who is interested in writing books, or interested in reading books too. You get an opportunity to rub elbows with authors, book-lovers, publishers and others at this event. The program includes workshops, keynotes and much more.

Jekyll Island Beach Music and BBQ Festival 2009

Life’s a Beach, at least on Jekyll Island in August. This has to be one of our favorite “last-chance-to-enjoy-summer” events. Lots of fun with live music, barbeque, shagging lessons and lots more.

Barbeque Bash
This year the festival has added a Barbecue Competition to the package.
The competition is sanctioned by the Georgia Barbecue Association, so this should be the great spot for some great tasting food.
