Cultural Film Series – St. Augustine, Florida

Gypsy Cab, the St. Johns Cultural Council, and the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival have joined forces to present a new Cultural Film Series beginning on Monday, April 28. (See flyer below for more info.) The  series will  serve as a benefit for the SJCC.

Space is limited so reservations are highly recommended.   Please call Gypsy Cab at 824-8244 to reserve your spot.  We will also be selling tickets during Uptown Saturday Night at the SJCC’s Art Advocate Gallery located at 76 B San Marco Ave.

Moonlight Movies Series: Jaws – Jacksonville, Florida

And just when you we’re getting ready to go to the beach for a nice swim – SHARK!!! I think we better stay on the beach. At least if you’re taking your gang out for the Moonlight Movie Series. Of course, the first movie this season is the classic Jaws from 1975 with a young Roy Scheider and even younger-looking Richard Dreyfuss. This was director Steven Spielbergs first BIG movie hit!

9 PM – 11 PM. This is a free screening.

Dinner and a Movie – St. Augustine, Florida

Gypsy Cab and the SJCC have teamed up to present the first movie for their Cultural Film Series.
The Big Bad SwimDinner and a movie opens with a comedy, “The Big Bad Swim”, a 2006 American independent film. A portion of the $25 per person ticket price will benefit the St. Johns Cultural Council and support its operations. Come out, support a great cause, see a great movie, and eat a great dinner ! 2008 Charleston International Film Festival – South Carolina

Charleston International Film Festival is a non-profit organization created to bring people together through the art and science of film, promote the exchange of ideas, a greater cross-cultural awareness and to inspire filmmakers from around the world.

The 1st Annual CIFF will bring attendees together for 4 days to attend premieres, panels, special events, after parties and deal making opportunities. The festival will showcase over 40 shorts, features and documentaries from around the world, screened at the premier art house, The Terrace Theatre. There will also be a screenplay competition.

On the 4th and final night of the festival, CIFF will present awards to the finest in filmmaking displayed during the competition in the Gold Ballroom at the Francis Marion Hotel.

Jacksonville Film Festival at the Landing – Jacksonville, Florida

Jacksonville, Fla. (April 14, 2008) The Jacksonville Film Festival season will begin in style with a website launch and media kick-off celebration for the public this Friday, April 18, at The Jacksonville Landing.

“Gator Country” radio DJ Amadeus will preside over the evening’s festivities, which will begin promptly at 5:30pm and last until 7:30pm. After the unveiling of the festival’s new website, trailers and short films will be shown from nearly 30 of the films that have been confirmed. In the main courtyard, attendees will be treated to live performances by the bands “Str8 Up” and “Out Of Hand.” Signature “Film Festival Cocktails” will be available, courtesy of Bacardi and Grey Goose.
