In conjunction with the Savannah Music Festival, the museum is pleased to bring you Jepson Live, featuring jazz guitar by the Barry Greene Trio on December 14th. Presented by The Savannah Bank, the new monthly series features live music at the Jepson Center for the Arts on the second Friday of each month.

The Coastal Jazz Association presents a tribute to Duke Ellington on Sunday, April 27, 2008. This event will be celebrating the legacy of one of America’s greatest musicians/composers for what would have been his 109th birthday (born April 29, 1899).
Every year The Savannah Jazz Orchestra, under the co-leadership of Teddy Adams and Randy Reese, features both unfamiliar compositions and special guest artists as a part of enhancing the genius of every Ellington concert.
This will be CJA’s 22nd year paying tribute to Mr. Ellington.
(PLEASE NOTE VENUE CHANGE!) This special concert will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 5:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Atlantic State University “Armstrong Center,” at 11935 Abercorn Street next to the main AASU campus (ce.armstrong.edu/facilities/armstrongcenter).
It is free and open to the public and is presented by the Coastal Jazz Association through a generous grant from
the City of Savannah Cultural Affairs Department.

Charleston Southern presents Carols in the Round. This beautiful event of unaccompanied Christmas carols takes place in the Science Building, a wonderfully acoustic setting. As a special treat, the Concert Singers will be joined by the CSU Brass Choir. Seating is limited. Science Building, Charleston Southern University. 6p.m. Free and open to the public. Christmas shopping can be very tiring, so how about this for a change of pace, step back in time and experience the wonderful and rich history of St. Augustine at Christmastime with some 18th Century Christmas Caroling. This will be an evening for the whole family to spend together. The event will begin with a musical prelude of Christmas music on a hammered dulcimer and violin begins at 6:30 pm at Plaza de la Constitucion. But don’t worry, your family will get a chance to sing as well. Song sheets with the familiar words to 10 Christmas carols written before the 1800’s will be provided and candles and songbooks will be available. The singing of the carols and the procession down St. George Street will begin at 7 p.m. and will end at the Castillo de San Marcos where a Merry Christmas and good night will be wished for all.
