BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival And Charleston Magazine Unveil Winning Poster Design For 2008 Event

The BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival and Charleston magazine are excited to announce that Jason Fletcher has been selected as the winner of the Official Poster Competition for the event. Jason Fletcher of Charleston is a graphic artist at The Post and Courier. Fletcher will receive a $1,000 check for his winning design, and his work will be featured on retail items and storefront windows across the city. He will also receive recognition in the December issue of Charleston magazine.

With more than 40 entries, Jason’s design was selected for its articulation of the festival concept, gourmand food and wine. “I wanted to create something that visually combined food and wine in a simple way, but still had a little depth to it. Something that would be easy, interesting and offer an immediate read,” said Fletcher when asked about his design concept.

The BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival is set to combine the city’s best culinary experiences into one spectacular weekend, February 28-March 2, 2008. Charleston Men’s Chorus Annual Christmas Concert – Charleston, SC

The Charleston Men’s Chorus presents its 13th annual Christmas Concert. The concert will be a combination of sacred music as well as joyful holiday lyrics. The Charleston Men’s Chorus is a non-profit group of experienced and talented singers who perform in the tri-county area and are committed to giving a portion of their proceeds back to the community through music scholarships and various donations. The group has been singing under the direction of Lon H. Shull III since 1994, and is accompanied by Laura Ball on piano. Tickets for the concert will be available at all Cat’s Music and Monster Music and Movie stores (located at Folly Rd. in James Island, N. Main St. in Summerville, Wando Crossing in Mt. “The Nutcracker” by Becky’s Box of Puppets – Charleston, SC

Dec. 7 – “The Nutcracker.” Presented by Becky’s Box of Puppets. 10 a.m. (sold out) and 11:30 a.m. G.M. Darby Building, Mt. Pleasant. Puppets up to four feet tall are among the nearly thirty characters performed by one person in the beloved holiday tale of a young girl and her adventures with the Nutcracker Prince.
