Fourth of July at Middleton Place – Charleston, South Carolina

What better way to celebrate the July 4th holiday than by visiting the home of Arthur Middleton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence?

Arthur Middleton (1742-1787) is buried in the family tomb at Middleton Place. Visitors can see the tomb and tour the Gardens, House Museum and Plantation Stabelyards from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily.

The rail operations crew will fire up the Georgia Power #30 locomotive and move it around the site, utilizing newly-laid track and a massive turntable.
At the Roundhouse Museum, 601 W. Harris Street. Daily demonstrations. Regular admission.

Ahoy Maties! Sign your pirate code of conduct, make an eye patch, and more. Search the Museum for buried treasure and hear tales of pirates in Charleston. Every month The Charleston Museum offers a special Saturday program dedicated to providing an educational as well as exciting experience for the whole family. Join us each month for a different themed event including presentations and craft projects for children of all ages. These events are FREE for Museum members and FREE with admission ($10/adults, $5/children, under 3 FREE). No reservations required.
