Historic Old Village Home, Garden and Art Tour – Mt Pleasant, South Carolina

The tour offers guests a unique opportunity to look inside 12 of the Old Village’s most beautiful homes and gardens, including the historic old Methodist Church (pictured, painted by artist Laurie Meyer) and the little blue school house which have both been converted to private residences along with the home of former South Carolina Governor Edwards to name a few. This self paces walking tour allows guest to wander the Old Village at a leisurely pace from 1-5pm.

The tour will also feature an art sale, on Pitt Street in front of Out of Hand and the Pitt Street Pharmacy, showcasing the talents of 10 Mt. Pleasant artists. All Tour proceeds and a portion of the artist’s sales will benefit the local Carolina Lowcountry Chapter of the Red Cross.

21st Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival – Mt Pleasant, South Carolina

On the scenic shores of Alhambra Hall overlooking the beautiful Charleston, SC harbor, the Town of Mt. Pleasant will honor the 21st anniversary of a unique shrimping festival that attracts thousands of visitors each year. The 21st Annual Town of Mt. Pleasant Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival Presented by Lucey Mortgage Corporation will take place on Sunday, April 27 from 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. This highly-anticipated event celebrates the Mt. Pleasant shrimping industry and features local shrimp boat captains partaking in an annual pre-season tradition – the blessing of the shrimp fleet. As one of Mt. Pleasant’s largest tourist events, the festival attracted 10,000 to 12,000 people from across the southeast last year. Lowcountry Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall – Charleston, South Carolina

Strawberries…Strawberries…and more strawberries… are the centerpiece at Boone Hall Plantation for one of the most popular special events held in the Lowcountry every spring. The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival features a large variety of attractions and activities that are guaranteed fun for all ages. A Giant Ferris Wheel…a carousel…the unique Berry-Go-Round…jump castles…slides…and a carriage ride around the plantation…all are just a few of the amusements available for families to enjoy. There’s also music of all kinds, clowns, recipe and pie eating contests, and much much more. And no visit to Boone Hall during this festival would be complete without a chance for the family to pick their own strawberries from our U-Pick fields. It’s two fun filled days and a great way for families to kick off the spring each year.
