23rd Annual Great Chowder Debate – St Augustine, Florida

Who can resist a good debate? Even if you’ve had enough of political debates, check this one out. This is a different kind of debate. Here you can satisfy your passion for great seafood chowder at the Conch House Marina’s celebrated annual Great Chowder Debate. More than 30 area restaurants will compete to see who has the best chowder – each special entry is available for tasting with taste tickets sold for $1 each. An astounding variety of chowders will be available – from local favorites like the Menorcan chowders to an assortment of New England chowders – made with clams, conch, lobster, scallops and crab and laced with secret concoctions of herbs and spices. The event starts at noon and runs throughout the day. All proceeds benefit the Shriners’ Hospitals for Crippled Children. The Conch House Marina is located at 57 Comares Avenue in St. Augustine.

27th Annual Savannah Seafood Festival

The best time to visit Savannah is during the Seafood Festival. The festival includes a vintage boat show, ski demonstrations, tons of fresh seafood, games, fun, regional arts and crafts and much more. The festival is free and open to the public.There will be live entertainment featuring headlining zydeco bands. The festival takes place October 31 – November 2 on Historic River Street, downtown Savannah.

Shalom Y’All Jewish Festival in Savannah, Georgia

This is a unique festival in Savannah and has enjoyed almost twenty years of success!

It is held in Savannah’s largest and one of the most charming public areas, Forsyth Park.
Held the last Sunday of each October from 11 am until 4 pm, the festival draws about 10,000 people and provides attendees with a taste of ethnic Jewish cuisine as well as family entertainment ranging from music, dance, magic and puppet shows.

There is not an admission for this event, but once you have smelled the aroma of all the wonderful cuisine, you will want to purchase tickets for food. The tickets are only $1.00 each and there are two ticket booths on the festival grounds. You can use the above ticket special for advanced tickets. Not only will you receive a discount, but you can pick up your tickets before the festival so you won’t have to stand in the ticket line.
