Amelia Island Art Festival and Wine Tasting – Fernandina, Florida

Our inaugural Amelia Island Fall Art Festival and Wine Tasting will take place in Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach on Veterans Day Weekend November 10th & 11th. One of the most picturesque historic districts in the country will host a wonderful opportunity to take in some great art and great wine. Artists will showcase works in clay, watercolor, acrylics, sculpture, photography, jewelry, and raku. Unique art works from over 100 artists will line the Historic District from Front Street to Fourth Street. Visit with the artists one-on-one as they reveal their distinctive talent and creativity in a variety of media. Fernandina is also home to a number of very noteworthy artists and galleries, as you stroll about looking at the art on the street, don’t forget to visit our local galleries, artists and co-ops

The 6th Annual Taste of the Town to Be Held On Veterans Day – Summerville, S.C.

November 5, 2007, Summerville, SC – The Greater Summerville/ Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce and Summerville D.R.E.A.M. (Downtown Restoration, Enhancement and Management) have joined once again to host the 6th Annual Taste of the Town, which will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11 from noon to 4 p.m. in Historic Downtown Summerville and will feature delectable food “tastes” from the finest restaurants in Summerville.

In partnership with the National Veteran’s Day Celebration, a four day schedule of events in the Low country honoring our veterans and armed services (www.nationalveteransdaycelebration.org), the event will showcase local restaurants with entertainment provided throughout the day. The program includes live music, a local Summerville arts district, open house weekend holiday shopping and children’s entertainment complete with jump castles and face painting by the Summerville Artist Guild. Admission is free and food tastes are individually priced. There will be judged prizes for “Most Patriotic Booth” and “Best of” food categories.

BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival Has Been Selected as One of the Southeast’s Top 20 Events

The third annual BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival, scheduled for February 28-March 2, 2008, has been recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the Top 20 Events for the month of February 2008. To be considered for nomination the event had to be in at least their third year and have an attendance of at least 1,000. The winners receive recognition in over 800 newspapers, magazines, radio & television stations including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the New Orleans-based radio show “Travel Talk Radio”.
