Rookery and Tree Tales – Darien, Georgia

A Gospel Brunch – Savannah, GA

ArchaeoFest 2008 – Savannah, Georgia

The popular event for kids returns to Battlefield Memorial Park for the second year, offering hands-on archaeological education activities on the site of the 1779 Battle of Savannah.  May 31, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Battlefield Park.  Prices are – Adults $6; Children $5; Under 6 are free.

Dedication of New Historical Marker – Savannah, GA

The Georgia Historical Society announces the dedication of a new historical marker on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. The marker, entitled Point Peter Battery and the War of 1812 tells the story of Point Peter Battery and recognizes the surprising role of this often forgotten coastal fortification as a staging point for both defensive and offensive military action throughout the earliest years of our nation’s history.
