Teen Aces Golf Tournament and Helps Food Bank

SAVANNAH – Drew Aimone of Savannah was crowned the 2008 Champion of the Savannah-Hilton Head Amateur Match Play at Crosswinds Golf Club on Sunday, August 10th. Aimone, a seventeen-year-old golfer from Savannah Christian Preparatory School, defeated Bill Jones of Conyers, Georgia during morning matches 3 and 2, and went on to defeat Greg England of Savannah in the Championship Match Up. Pierce Markowitz of Savannah won the first flight, defeating Savannah Christian Preparatory School’s Chris Jodis. Aimone, who was ranked sixth for the tournament, has secured the top position for next year’s tournament.

Navy Band Southeast Jazz Ensemble – Savannah, GA

The Navy Band Southeast Jazz Ensemble is an eighteen-piece group that performs a wide variety of music from traditional Big Band classics to contemporary Jazz, sizzling Latin to Motown. With high caliber vocals and dynamic soloists, this versatile group has entertained tens-of-thousands of audiences at numerous festivals, schools, and military events throughout the Southeast region. Wherever they perform, they are met with excitement and enthusiasm!

Navy Band Southeast Jazz Ensemble will present a free concert at the Jewish Educational Alliance on Thursday, November 13th at 1:30 p.m. as part of a community celebration of the U.S. armed forces and to honor our veterans.
