Want to try your hand at pounding rice? What about learning the traditional dancing styles popular during the 18th century? How about putting together a barrel sturdy enough to hold 500 pounds of rice? Bring a friend or the entire family to Drayton Hall to experience these activities and more during the interactive program. You’ll feel as though you have stepped back in time and are living and working on a Lowcountry plantation.

St. Joseph’s/Candler presents the annual St. Vincent’s Historic Tour of Homes & Tea to benefit the preservation of the of the 1845 Convent of St. Vincent de Paul. St. Vincent’s Academy has enjoyed an enduring relationship with St. Joseph’s since 1875 when the Sisters of Mercy established St. Joseph’s Hospital in downtown Savannah.

Join the National Park Service in celebration of Constitution Week by attending one of the free special events scheduled September 17-23, 2007 at Charles Pinckney National Historic Site on Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant. The park preserves the last 28 acres of Snee Farm, a plantation that was once owned by Charles Pinckney, a principal framer and signer of the U.S. Constitution.
