Living History Day at Fort Matanzas – St Augustine, Florida

Soldiers recreate the drama and precision associated with firing historic black powder weapons along with daily life at this Spanish outpost. Cannon demonstrations will take place during the regularly scheduled tours except for the 9:30 am and 4:30 pm tours.

Christmas Tour of Homes – St Augustine, Florida

Enjoy “Christmas Under the Oaks,” the St. Augustine Garden Club’s annual tour that will showcase seven homes located on in St. Augustine’s north city/Fullerwood area. These beautiful historic early 20th century Florida style homes, welcome you to enjoy a taste of nostalgia in the colorful floral decorations. All decorations and floral arrangements throughout the tour will be composed of natural materials designed and hand crafted by members of The Garden Club of St. Augustine. In addition, your ticket includes a delightful tea at the Mark V. Lance National Guard Armory on San Marco Avenue where quality-crafted items made by Garden Club members will be available for purchase. Tours begin at the Nombre de Dios Mission parking area on San Marco Avenue.
Limited parking will be available at the parking lot of the Mission of Nombre de Dios (located between Ocean Ave. and Pine Street on San Marco Ave).
Red Train trolleys will transport visitors from the parking area to the Tour of Homes locations on Nelmar Ave., Macaris Street, Rainey Ave. and Bay View Drive.
A complimentary Red Train will also transport guests from the Downtown Parking Facility to the Mission of Nombre de Dios Parking Lot, where they will then be able to connect with the Tour Trains. The last Trains of the day will leave the Mission of Nombre de Dios Parking Lot and the Mark W. Lance National Guard Armory at 5:20pm.

The Wonders of the Salt Marsh at Fort Matanzas – St Augustine, Florida

The “4th Saturday of the Month” Nature Series continues at Fort Matanzas National Monument with a ranger-led walk to explore “The Wonders of the Salt Marsh” on Saturday, November 24, 9:30 – 11:30 am.  Meet on the benches in front of the visitor center. This is a free program.

An Afternoon Garden Party – St Augustine, Florida

Enjoy this fête galante complete with British Isles Musik and dance. Bring your dancing shoes along with a proper 18th century cup and eating utensils. Food and drinks are provided for a late afternoon repast before the onset of the British Nightwatch and Grande Illumination, The Garden Party takes place at 4 p.m. in the Hispanic Garden, located at the corner of St. George and Hypolita streets.

Bird Walk at Fort Matanzas – St Augustine, Florida

Fort Matanzas National Monument will present a Bird Walk from 9:30 to 11:30 am led by park volunteer Joe Shannon.  Join us for a stroll along the river shore to watch for water birds and migrating song birds.  Bring binoculars, and dress for the weather.  There is no charge for this two-hour program.    Meet behind the Visitor Center.   For additional information, call 904-471-0116.
