After 5 successful years and with the First Day Festival growing each year, it is time to create our own signature logo for the festival. We have launched a logo contest and invited students ages 5-15 years old to design a new logo that will serve as a graphical way to describe the festival and its mission. Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. will unveil the winning logo and honor the student designer at the 6th annual First Day Festival, Sunday, August 17, 2008.

July 4th Celebration at Fort Pulaski – Savannah, GA

June 30, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

Celebrate the nation’s 232nd Birthday at Fort Pulaski in Savannah with a special patriotic living history event. The event will include a Civil War baseball game using 1860s rules and equipment, so if you’re a true baseball fan you can’t miss that. The cannon firings and soldier demonstrations are sure to be a hit with the younger crowd.
