Reflections on the Life of a Photographic Artist – Amelia Island, Florida

The photographer will give a brief talk about his decision to give up color photography to do black and white photographs of the Florida swamp, and his faith that his images can help people understand the environment in which they live. He will also discuss many of his current projects and his involvement in Florida environmental issues. The title of the presentation is “Reflections on the Life of a Photographic Artist.” Following this, a trolley will take guests to a reception at Amelia Island Museum of History, during which the museum and his exhibit will be open to guests. Members enter free with their membership card. For nonmembers, tickets can be purchased at the museum for $15 until August 13. Call 262-7378, x101, for reservations.

Nature Hike at Fort George Island, Florida

Join Park Ranger Terrance at the Ribault Club on historic Fort George Island as he leads a leisurely paced, hour long, hike to discover the islands natural communities. It’s FREE! Do yourself a favor and allow some extra time to visit the interpretive displays inside the Ribault Club as well. Don’t forget your bug spray and water bottle!
