Patriots Point and Congressional Medal of Honor Society Sign New Five Year Agreement
CHARLESTON HARBOR, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Congressional Medal of Honor Society and the Patriots Point Development Authority have signed a five year extension of the license that ensures the Medal of Honor Museum and the offices of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society will be housed on board the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown at Patriots Point .

Owners of Jacksonville Jaguars give $150,000 to help St. Johns River
Team owners Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver announced that they will donate as much as $150,000 to St. Johns Riverkeeper organization, reports Orlando Sentinel. St. Johns Riverkeeper is an environmental group working for clean and healthy water in the St. Johns River, its tributaries and its wetlands, through citizen-based advocacy. SONGWRITER FESTIVAL SLATED FOR AUGUST 27-31 IN FLORIDA
The First Annual Amelia Island Songwriter Festival will drop anchor in Fernandina Beach, Florida, August 27-31. The BMI-sponsored event offers a unique combination of workshops, showcasing and networking opportunities for aspiring songwriters of all levels. Established Nashville hitmakers will also attend, performing their smashes at evening showcases on the island and offering invaluable insight during daily seminars led by songwriter and author Jason Blume. Numerous songwriting contests will also be staged with cash awards for first second and third places; the Grand Event held the final day of the festival will pit the winners of individual contests against each other for Song and Songwriter of the Year bragging rights, along with respective $1,000 prizes.
